Nicotine Overdose

Nicotine overdose, also known as nicotine poisoning, can occur when someone consumes too much nicotine, either through tobacco products, nicotine replacement therapies, or e-cigarettes.

Symptoms of nicotine overdose can vary depending on the severity but may include:

1. **Nausea and vomiting**: Early symptoms often include feeling nauseous and possibly vomiting.

2. **Increased heart rate**: Nicotine stimulates the cardiovascular system, leading to a rapid heartbeat (tachycardia).

3. **Increased blood pressure**: Nicotine can cause a temporary increase in blood pressure.

4. **Dizziness or lightheadedness**: Some individuals may feel dizzy or light-headed.

5. **Excessive salivation**: Increased saliva production can occur.

6. **Headaches**: Nicotine can trigger headaches or migraines in some individuals.

7. **Difficulty breathing**: In severe cases, nicotine overdose can cause difficulty in breathing.

8. **Muscle twitching**: Nicotine can affect neuromuscular function, leading to muscle twitching.

9. **Confusion or agitation**: Higher doses of nicotine can cause confusion or agitation.

10. **Seizures**: In rare cases, severe nicotine poisoning can lead to seizures.
